The Amish publishing house, Pathway Publishers, publishes three magazines: Family Life, Young Companion, and Blackboard Bulletin. The most popular of these three is Family Life, designed for adults and families. It contains articles on Christian living, parenting, and homemaking. It also contains editorials, letters from readers, medical advice, poems, recipes, and children’s stories. As of 2010, Family Life magazine has over 31,000 monthly subscribers. It is published 11 times per year.
Pathway also publishes two other magazines. Young Companion is targeted to teens and children. It contains stories with Christian messages-including lesson stories, adventure stories, and Amish romance. Blackboard Bulletin is designed for Amish school teachers, but is also helpful for homeschool parents.
Pathway Publishers offers a discounted subscription price when a person subscribes to all three magazines. As a result, over 85% of Family Life subscribers get all three magazines.
Unlike the other Pathway publications, subscriptions to their magazines can only be obtained by mailing in a request, along with a check, to the Pathway Canadian office:

Courtesy Subscription Service
For U. S. and Canadian addresses only. If you would prefer to purchase your magazine subscription over the Internet or over the phone, using a credit card, PayPal, or an eCheck, we offer a courtesy subscription service. You can order a Family Life subscription or a combined three-magazine subscription through our website or by calling our order line (717-349-7033). We will then mail your subscription information with payment to Pathway’s Canadian office. Again, we are not Pathway Publishers. We are an independent reseller, Scroll Publishing Co., who carries all of Pathway Publishers’ publications.
We charge $2.00 for this service, plus 75¢ for the cost of the stamp to mail your subscription to Canada. At the present time, we offer this service only for new subscriptions, not subscription renewals.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Whether you use our courtesy service or mail in your own subscription, it will take 6 to 8 weeks to receive your first monthly issue. The reason for this is that Pathway will not send you your first issue as soon as they receive your subscription order. Rather, they will add your name to their subscription list. Your first issue will then go out on their next mailing. Please do not order if you are not willing to wait up to 8 weeks to receive your first issue. Also, please do not call us inquiring about your subscription unless at least 8 weeks have passed since you ordered it. Remember, we have no contol over this whatsoever. We merely forward your subscription request to Pathway Publishers. They are the ones who will send out your subscription, not us.
